So yea, I guess you’re probably wondering why my slack ass hasn’t blogged in a week (update: just realize it’s actually only been 4 days since I’ve blogged clearly I fail at math…and twilight wins at taking over my life 
), well aside from the usual, after catching up with true blood, I got sucked back into my bottomless pit of fan fiction updates…and might have thrown a few new ones into the mix as well lol 
Fan Fic is Crack. On that note here’s some fics that I’ve really been enjoying this summer:
For the Summer by Camoozle
Bella lives at her family’s marina in the Arizona desert on the Colorado river. One summer Edward visits with his family on vacation when they’re both just children and they’re practically inseparable from that point on. I love this story because it reminds me of summer vacation as a child. The writer captures the essence of summer; sunburn, fast melting ice cream, the smell of sunscreen, the possibilities of meeting new friends, friendships that are fast and fizzle out just as quickly as vacation ends. Except in this case Bella lives permanently in Edward’s vacation-land. She lives for the summers to see him, he lives for summers to return to the marina and see her. Year after year Edward comes back, and they swear to always be friends. But as they grow older, spending just a few months together out of the year is starting to tear them apart because a few months together is never enough! Super romantic, almost heartbreaking, the lemons are sweet and almost real…if you’re looking for ridiculous smut move on, but if you’re looking for a story that’s going to make you say “awww” or want to smack the characters and make them open their eyes then this is for you 
Under the Apple Tree by Danieller123
I confess, I wasn’t going to read this one at first because a few reviews said it was angsty and heart breaking and Bella was so fucked up and Edward was so fuck up and blah blah blah… I was sick of those fics. I needed a break from those fics…but out of curiousity I read it anyway and yes, now I’m completely sucked into the story! It’s true, Bella is fucked up. She’s got a whole mess of problems, but there’s something about the way this one is written that I felt for her. Edwards messed up too, in his own way, but really he’s just heartbroken and sad. What really sucked me in was when we get to see who Edward is. He’s like a knight in shining armor, so protective and caring. He never gives up on Bella. It’s really sweet, but then you might think why in the hell would his character just keep putting himself out there like that just to be burned by a Bella that doesn’t care? Again it’s in the writing! The beginning of the story is in Bella’s point of view. It’s written like she’s just going through the motions of her sad messed up life. She just stumbles through her days, but then Edward comes into her life. The chapters get long, the descriptions become more clear, the characters more developed, essentially Edward’s entrance into her life is like having the wool removed from the readers eyes. We see her and she’s sad, she’s broken, she’s indecisive, and she doesn’t know what the hell to do with her life….but then suddenly she’s trying, and she cares. She makes Edward laugh and brings light into his life as well. She’s just what Edward needs, he’s just what she needs it just takes her longer to realize it. The lemons aren’t in abundance at first, and I like that the writer leaves the majority of the descriptions left to our imaginations. It’s sexy with out being vulgar. Yup, I’m addicted.
OSA Bella by Myg
Vampires and wolves and bears Oh My! If you’re a Twitarded junkie like I am you’ve probably been following this story. It’s so good… SO SO good. Myg is an amazing writer! I love the fan fic writers that successfully write with in the fantasy world, it’s not an easy task…sometimes sticking to human characters is easier, write what you know is one of my motto’s! But the writers that go out on a limb and write a successful vamp/human fic, and not only that but make it original and make it their own instead of a rehash of twilight or god forbid breaking dawn part duex…I salute you….no more than that, I bow down. I know I can’t do it, it’s a tricky task that’s why these kind of stories, when done right, have been my favorite stories.
So anyway, something crazy’s going down in Forks. Bella is an adult and she’s a guidance counselor at Forks high school. The Cullen’s show up and Edward is (like in twilight) a 17 year-old student at the school. Big big problem for Bella. Myg’s Bella hasn’t had it easy, she’s lost her husband to the war in Iraq, packs up her life moves to Forks only to find her problems just came with her anyway. She’s casually sleeping with her friend Jake who won’t let anything else develop between them, she starts dating a guy who turns out to be an asshole, one of her favorite students goes off the deep-end and to top it all off she’s falling for the unobtainable…who turns out to be a vampire, and then Jake gets pissed and reveals that he’s a wolf, oh and there’s a whole bunch of bears attacking people in the area surrounding Fork…and remember she’s a psychologist…so she thinks she’s ready to be checked in to the loony bin. I’m dying to see where Myg takes this story…oh and I still don’t know what the hell the OSA stands for lol.
Anyway, hope you like some of these recs, three very different but very good stories
