Those who love a highly detailed, violent, gory zombie romp.

I know I’ve mentioned it before – but I love a good zombie story and where others have failed to deliver – World War Z delivered a highly diverse, unique  “collection” of personal accounts from those who survived the Zombie Apocalypse.  I could not have imagined a more detailed, thoroughly documented, fictional event.  Max Brooks gives you every account from those who witnessed the first outbreak, who fought in the first major military movement, who were on land, air and sea; who adapted, who survived.  From the ocean floor to outer space.  There are accounts from the everyday man, the hero, the villain, the celebrities, the ones who’s sanity didn’t survive, the officers, the politicians – everyone and anyone who could have survived gets their say.  And not for a second did I feel like Max Brooks was telling me the story – for each personal account, it felt like an individual.   It is a complete tale, with every scenario imaginable and then some.  I read before bed – and I found the detailed personal accounts so eerily realistic, at times I found I drift off to sleep, only to wake with too real dreams of zombies (which may have made this a slower read, but it was a good page turner).

I highly recommend this book to any one who loves a good, gory zombie tale.  A fantastic work for anyone who is a fan of the genre.
